Bekijk Volledige Versie : Mal's 1978 924, from Hungary /english :) /
Hola! :)
Hello to you in this forum.
I got an 1978 924.
As I know, the first owner race with this car in Germany, he order a few spec., and modify a few thing on the car. As the papers said, this is a race-prepared serie.
She got lowered body, original wheel spacers, 15" ATS rims, rollcage.
Now I plan to move to Rotterdam in this spring, to try my luck.
Soon I attach pictures, but the car is not yet at tip-top condition... :)
Regards
Mal

It starts from the B column, and go back.

Interesting to see those wheels on '78 924.....Quite rare with 4 bolts!!
I'm living in De Lier.
I have been at StolzeClassicCars a half year ago. To get there i have to travel 5 minutes by car.
Mr Stolze has got a lot of cars, I think more than 300. 20% of this is absolutely scrap, 40% is better, 25% are good cars with a little bit work to do and 15% is in perfect condition.
The most of te porsches he has got are from te USA. Some are beautiful and some are very bad. I don't know or the 356's and the RS are original. But I know that his prices are very high.
The 924 looks good on the picture, but in real it isn't so nice, as I remember. (Maybe because I don't like amerikan style)
I am studying in Rotterdam, so if I can help you with anything, contact me.

Mal
Here are a few picture from the interior... Here you can see the rollcage.

If the handling doesn't seem right, the missing parts are in the boot. ;-)
Oh Yes, that is a front suspension push rod... :)
Hi!
A big project is started: temporary replace the whole engine. My original one has got a "small" problem, mix the oil with the petrol. Maybe some problem with the valves, this is a come-back bug. So, temporary this solution is cheaper, and more faster, of course. I bought the engine for almost nothing, from a broken 924.
Unfortunately, we must finish it before we are ready, because my friend falls into the inspection pit, in his own garage... Ambulance, hospital, but He is lucky, nothing serious, just contusion.
In the following days, we will continue the job.
Here is a picture from the "new" engine. Made in 1984. :)

Over at 924board, there's a guy with a similar problem, so this might be helpful:

I love the cover!! I want it, how much????
Hi!
Last time, when I talk with the guy, He sold it for about 50EUR, plus one original cover.
I will call him, and give an exact to you.
Hi!
SO, the cover's price is 70EUR, and He can post it to even Holland.
Or, when I go there, I can bring a few piece.
Other topic.
Next month, I pack my life to my loved car, and with my girlfriend, and Kázmér(my cat) We go, and try our luck in Holland. In the last years I visit Rotterdam for a few times, I like that area so much. I'm bored here in Hungary, to step from one leg to an other, stepping in one place... The policy is terrible corrupt in this country..
If anybody can help to us, I will be so thankful... We are 28, speaks english, and my girlfriend speaks german, too. For the beginning any type of job is interested, because we need to study the language. I'm work in IT, handle computer networks, creating graphics, websites. My girlfriend is graduated, and experienced in cosmetics. Also we need an extra-cheap flat, for rent. Or a garage, of course... :D
But really, we work anything, does not matter, how deep we need to start.
So, we said, ROCK 'N' ROLL! :)
And, of course, is anybody needs a hand to repair a 924, you can count with me. :)
Thanks a lot
Mal
Hi!
A small question: Do anybody know a garage near Rotterdam, where people can repair his own car? When I move to holland, I bring my tools with myself, and if small repairs needed, I need a place to do it.
Any idea?
Mal
I don't know of that, but I am sure there are garages where you can do it yourself..
a 'doe het zelf' garage it is called in Holland.
maybe you can google for that? But you don't have to worry, plenty of place to work your tools!
Try http://www.undutchables.nl for jobs...
Hi!
Thanks a lot for the answers! I check the garages, and the jobs too!
Sometimes You meet for a shared repair-party...? :)
Mal
That's currently under consideration, yes... most cars need at least one job. Finding a suitable location is the main problem for now.
What about this: http://www.doehetzelfgarage.nl/ ?
Looks good for me... :)

They are really good, nice people overthere!! and most important, affordable...
Hello!
My friend needs some help. He rebuild an original engine, but He does not find +1size main bearing set for it. Got any idea, where to search it? We try pelicanparts, http://www.ebsracing.com, and small companies, they run out from stock.
Thanks
Mal
